HISTORY:

PRODUCTOS QUIMICOS PANA-MERICANOS S.A. (PQP) is a Colombian company founded in 1974 by Colombian investors, and has its main office in Medellín.

Today, PQP has seven manufactu-ring and commercial facilities in Colombia, as well as commercial offices in Costa Rica and Ecuador. Two of our manufacturing centers are located near ports on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, which allows us to respond in a quick and efficient way to any of the needs of our international and local clients.

PQP’s plants have a complete structure and are perpetually evolving. The plants are equipped modern, automated production systems, as well as fully equipped quality control labs. The company has a central research and development lab that tests and markets new products. PQP employs approximately 250 people. Our employees are well trained in quality control and environmental standards. Our staff is committed to providing quality, efficient, and innovative service in an ongoing manner.

In 1999, PQP began the Certification of the Productive Processes program under the NTC-ISO 9002:1994 Standard. In 2001, PQP started the transition process toward the NTC- ISO 9001 version 2000 Standard Certification, which established a Quality Management System. This system focuses on the continued improvement of manufacturing processes and customer satisfaction. At the present time we have under the previous standard the production and marketing processes:

• Agricultural fungicides, water treatment products, inorganic fertilizers, animal concentrate food raw materials, and soap industry improvers manufactured at the Girardota Plant. This includes all the products manufactured there today: Copper oxichloride, pentahydrated copper sulphate, liquid aluminum sulphate type B, ammoniac alum, agricultural magnesium sulphate, fertilizers based on calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, calcium phosphates (fosbicals), and sodium silicates.

• Solid and liquid aluminum sulphate types A, B, and iron free, polyaluminun chloride, cationic polymers, and liquid manganese sulphates manufactured at the Barranquilla Plant.

• Solid and liquid aluminum sulphate type B and type A for water treatment and industrial usage, sodium and solid and liquid potassium silicates, sodium metasilicate, manufactured at the Tocancipá Plant.

• Sulfuric acid and oleum manufactured at the Muña Plant.

• Solid and liquid aluminum sulphate type A paper grade (iron free), solid and liquid aluminum sulphate type B, solid and liquid magnesium sulphate, liquid sodium silicates, and polyaluminum chloride manufactured at the Jamundí Plant.

We continue implementing our Quality Management System according to NTC-ISO 9001:2000 throughout the production processes at all of our plants.
